Bobby Ray Thornton, Sr., age 78, of Louisville, KY, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was a member of the Woodsonville Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late James Thornton and the late Annie Ford Thornton and husband of the late Mamie Bell Esters Thornton.
He is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Ballew, Angela Thornton, Sharon Thornton all of Louisville, KY; two sons, Bobby Ray Thornton Jr and wife Freda, Baton Rouge, LA, Ronald Thornton, Louisville, KY; one sister, Patsy Ann Richardson, Horse Cave, KY; two brothers, Emmitt Thornton, Rowletts, KY, Allen Thornton, Louisville, KY; brother-in-law, Cookie Ford, Horse Cave, KY 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Tyrone Thornton; sister, Patsy Jean Ford; three brothers, Bud Thornton, James Coates and Carl Winn.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM CT, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Woodsonville Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM CT, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Woodsonville Baptist Church. Interment will be at Woodsonville Memorial Gardens, Munfordville, KY.
