Carlos Edward Barbour

Carlos Edward Barbour, age 86, of Canmer, KY, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. Mr. Barbour was a retired farmer and served on the library board during the building project. In 1982 he received an honor award from the Soil Conservation District of Kentucky. He was past chair of the Mt. Gilboa Cemetery Committee and a member of Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church. He is the son of the late Willie M. Barbour and Eliza Maud Vaughn Barbour. He is survived by his wife; Jessie "Lee" Brewer Barbour; Camer Ky, three daughters: Wanda Dickerson (Rev Robert) , Louisville, KY; Judy Schooler, Georgetown, KY; Shelia Barbour, Alphretta, GA: three sons: Lewis Barbour, Louisville , KY; Harry T. Barbour, Canmer, KY; & John Barbour (Earnestine), Louisville, KY. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Friday, May 27, 2011 and from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Mt Gilboa Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at Mt Gilboa Baptist Church at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 28, 2011, Rev. Robert Dickerson & Rev. Douglas Barbour officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Gilboa Cemetery, Canmer, KY.
