Christa Finley Bunnell, age 77, of Hardyville, KY, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at her residence. Christa was born and raised in Greenville, KY. Christa was a UK graduate, speech writer for Governor Bert Combs, former editor of Hart County News and Hart County Herald, Supervisor for Cabinet for Health & Family Services, retired from Kentucky’s Tourism Cabinet as Director of Communications, volunteer for Hart County Tourism and a member of Hardyville Union Church. She was the daughter of the late Marion Finley and the late Virginia Warren Finley.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jack D. Bunnell; two daughters, Elisabeth Noell and husband Matt, Lexington, KY, Elaine Devore and husband Mitchell, Munfordville, KY; one son, John F. Bunnell and wife Julie, Hardyville, KY; one sister, Ima Gary and husband Irvin, Greenville, KY; four grandchildren, Alec Devore, Rachel Bunnell, Caleb Bunnell, Denny Bunnell; one great-grandchild, Lynden Bunnell and a lifelong friend Sherry Neeley, Las Vegas, NV. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Andrew "Andy" Bunnell and a sister, Anna Mae Sommers.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm CT, Thursday, February 18, 2016 and from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm CT Friday, February 19, 2016 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm CT, Friday at Brooks Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Andrew Bunnell Memorial Cemetery, Hardyville, KY.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Andy Bunnell Memorial Fund or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
