Cynthia Lee Messick, age 66 of Munfordville, KY passed away, Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at the Cooper Trail Senior Living Center in Bardstown, KY. She was a member of Cox’s Creek Baptist Church and retired from the Hart County Board of Education.

She is the daughter of the late Merritt John Roberts and the late Frances Arlene Barbour.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Albert Messick; a brother, David Roberts; a sister, Patricia Deutsch.

She is survived by her three daughters, Amy Johnson (Jeff), Taylorsville, KY, Emily Messick, Munfordville, KY, and Rachel Smith (Jesse), Bardstown, KY; three grandchildren, Jalin Halpin, Jacob Smith, and Annlee Smith; two brothers, Richard Howard Easley (Gail) and Johaan Heinz Fernand Roberts; two sisters, Kathi Desouter and Christina Riggleman; several nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.

Honoring the wishes of Cynthia, cremation has been chosen. The family will welcome friends from 1:00- 2:00 PM CT on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Brooks Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM CT on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Brooks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.
