Dave Etta Sears Crenshaw

Dave Etta Sears Crenshaw, age 81, of Horse Cave, KY, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. She was a member of Allen Seminary Baptist Church. She was an avid shopper who was always looking for a good deal.

She was the daughter of the late John Hershell Sears and the late Rosie Buckner Sears.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Maxey-Rice and two brothers, John H. and Paul H. Sears.

She is survived by her husband: Dewey Crenshaw; two daughters, Shirley Maxey of Munfordville, KY and Jo Ann Maxey of Munfordville, KY; one son, Ronald Maxey of Lexington, KY; 2 step-daughters, Amy William (Tywuan) of Indianapolis, IN and Adrian Dowdle (Jimmy) of Cookeville, TN; 5 grandchildren Denise Bradley (Paul) of Munfordville, KY, Shannon Maxey of Louisville, KY, Charity Ford of Glasgow, KY, Tyler Maxey (Kyla) of Glasgow, KY, Corey Ford of Glasgow, KY; 8 great-grandchildren, Shanda, Jordan, Dea, Elijah (Osei), Jaidyn, Jaithan, Ayvah, Devin; one half-sister, Alice Shirley (Ricky) of Munfordville, KY; three sisters-in-law and 4 brothers-in-law; 2 nieces and 4 nephews; and a host of friends and other family members.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM CT on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM CT Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Stanford Dixon officiating and Rev. Shawn Sales as the master of ceremonies. Burial will follow at Horse Cave Guthrie Street Cemetery.
