David Wayne “Smiley” Sanders, age 64 of Canmer, KY passed away, Monday, August 17, 2026 at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat fan.

He is the son of the late Rev. Louis Glenn Sanders and the late Dorothy Perkins Sanders.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Mickey Sanders; maternal grandparents, Alma Lile Perkins and Clinton Eugene Perkins; paternal grandparents, Courtland Sanders and Dorothy Jaggers Sanders.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Nicole Sanders (Nicole), Hardyville, KY, his son, Chase Garrison; three sisters, Jo Ann Rigdon (Stanley), Munfordville, KY, Sherri Sanders Smith (David "Blue"), Munfordville, KY, and Shelia Mefford (Terry), Bowling Green, KY; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Services for “Smiley” will be private, burial will be at the Walters Community Cemetery.
