Obituary

David Jack Srygler, age 70 of Canmer, KY passed away, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at his home. He attended services at Glenn Lily Church of God of Prophecy. He was saved as a young man at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 22. He was a maintenance technician at Dart Container. He loved fishing and enjoyed time with his kids and grandkids, he had recently started working on grandfather clocks.

He is the son of Bro. Jack Srygler and Jo Ann Butler Srygler of Bonnieville, KY

He is preceded in death by two siblings, Joe Srygler and Mary Rose Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Robinson Srygler of Canmer; three children, D.J. Bennett (Doug) of Canmer, KY, Aaron Srygler (Leah) of Elizabethtown, KY, and Meredith Lile (Derek) of Canmer, KY; seven grandchildren, Isaac and Laura Jaggers, Shelby Moss and Emma Bennett, Aaron and Ava Lile, and Moira Srygler; two brothers, Johnny Srygler (Glenda) and Billy Srygler (Sharon); one sister, Sharon Cox; a special niece and nephew, Bonita Miller and Brandon Kersey; his dog, Bunker and his bird, Sunny “Yellow Queen”; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family also survive.

The family will welcome friends from 3:00- 8:00 PM CT on Thursday, April 23, 2026 and again from 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Gillenwater officiating. Burial will follow at the Srygler Cemetery Bonnieville, KY.
