David Carl Nie

David Carl Nie, age 86 of Munfordville, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023 at his home. He was a member of Our Lady of the Caves Catholic Church and a retired Lab Tech for Procter and Gamble. He enjoyed woodworking, firearms, playing the harmonica, singing,sitting around telling stories, he was quite a character.

He is the son of the late William Henry Nie and the late Estella A. Schuler Nie.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey D. Nie; two sisters, Estella Morgan and Lois Schrek; his one brother, Martin Nie.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Clare Carter Nie; three sons, Michael (Victoria), William, and Timothy Nie; seven grandchildren, Michael Nie, Michelle Wilson (Mike), David Nie, Ethan Nie (Beth), Lisa White,Peter White (Missy) and Brina Nie; eight great-grandchildren, Astinne, Tyler, Nathan, Ariana, Arabella, Adeline, Morgan and Lilith; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Nie, also survives.

Honoring the wishes of David, cremation has been chosen and a memorial mass will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Our Lady Of the Caves Catholic Church in Horse Cave, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of Brooks Funeral Home.
