Dennis James Rogers, age 71, of Cave City, KY, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, at his home. He was a member of the Our Lady of Caves Catholic Church. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He has a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Jersey City State University. He was a returns processor at Amazon and a school bus dispatcher for Warren County Schools. Prior to moving to Kentucky he was the Transprotation Director for Guiderland Central School District in Guilderland Center, NY and a former Vol. Firefighter in Middletown, NY.
He was the son of the late Michael James Rogers II and June Alice Gebo Rogers.
He is preceded in death by one son, Nicholas Bakk.
He is survived by two daughters, Abigail Rogers-Sullivan and her husband David, Munfordville, KY and Melanie Bakk, Munfordville, KY; one son, James Philip Rogers, Lexington, KY; one brother, Col. Michael James Rogers III and his wife Karen, The Villages, FL; three grandchildren, Juliet Ragland, William Brown and Dawson Sullivan; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. CT Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Our Lady Of The Caves Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. CT Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Our Lady Of The Caves Catholic Church with Fr. Joel Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in St. Benedicts Catholic Church Cemetery.
