Edgar E. "Ed" McDowell, Jr.

Edgar E. “Ed” McDowell, Jr. age 64 of Cub Run, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 2 , 2025. He was a member of Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, AR. He was a retiree of the U.S. Air Force and from Falcon Jets where he worked in the avianics department. Ed enjoyed spending time in his garden and tinkering with odd and end things, he especially cherished his time with family and friends.

He is the son of the late Edgar E. McDowell, Sr. and the late Aloma Lee Hawkins McDowell.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Fay McDowell; his sister, Cindy Walters.

He is survived by three daughters, Lisa McCullough, Searcy, AR; Laura McDowell, Cub Run, KY and Latisha Harper (Benjamin Hirsch), Cub Run; one son, Keith Huff (Tiffany Stephan), Cub Run; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Deborah Clack (Jim), Pamela Austin (Pierce), Anna Tanner, Elizabeth Morgan (Kenneth), Patricia Lutterman (Gary), Gloria Ragland (Jeff), Beverly Harper (Ricky), and Jennifer Dudgeon (Michael); three brothers, Leon McDowell (Ruth), William McDowell (Karen), and Christopher McDowell (Sarah); several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

The family will welcome friends from 1:00- 8:00 PM CT on Saturday, July 5, 2025 and again from 9:00 AM- 2:00 PM CT on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Brooks Funeral. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CT on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Kessinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Meredith Family Cemetery.
