Evelyn Cox, age 86 of Cub Run, KY, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church. She was a retired nurses aide, postal worker and had worked security.

She is the daughter of the late Fred Bonn and the late Elsie Keene Russell

She is preceded in death by her husband, Royce Cox; her sister, Shirley Hicks; a son-in-law, Randy Buckley.

She is survived by her four daughters, Vickie Buckley, Louisville, KY, Donna Gentry, Louisville, KY, Lisa Schneider (Jim), Louisville, KY, and Shannon Durrum (Jimmy), Lexington, KY; one son, Ronald Gentry (Linda Hunter) Louisville, KY; an adopted daughter, Amanda LaMont (David) Clarksville, TN; one sister, Mary Faford, Louisville, KY; a brother, Fred Bonn, Jr., Bristol, TN; a step-daughter, Debbie Spencer, Munfordville, KY; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.

Services for Mrs. Cox are private. Burial will be at Cherry Springs Cemetery in Cub Run, KY.
