Gary L. “Tut” Burba, age 78 of Cub Run, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He was of the Baptist Faith. Gary was a carpenter and later he got into restoring cars. Gary loved his family and spending time down in the holler at his cabin, he was a cat lover, he enjoyed going to car shows where he won lots of trophies. He was a simple man, and he loved to help others.

He was the son of the late Bro. Ralph Burba and the late Estella Brooks Burba.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Sylvestor Burba, J.C. Burba, Junior Burba, Dorothy White, Ruby Rich, Rita Burba, Lita Jones, Betty Norway, Gin Gregory, and Larry Burba.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Julie Burba, Cub Run, KY; his children, Melissa Taylor (Nathan), Mammoth Cave, KY, Jeff Burba (Janet), Mammoth Cave, KY; three grandchildren, Hunter Crook, Heather Gardner, and Keely Burba; two brothers, Kenneth Burba (Rosalie), Louisville, KY, and Harold Burba (Carolyn), Shepherdsville, KY; many nieces, nephews, and others extended family and friends also survived.

The family will welcome friends from 10:00 AM- 8:00 PM CT on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Brooks Funeral Home and again from 8:00-11:00 AM CT on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Union Light Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CT on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Union Light Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Barry Devine officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Light Cemetery.
