Gretchen Michelle Spradlin

Gretchen Michelle Spradlin, 49, of Munfordville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2023, in Hospice House of Bowling Green. She was born on January 13, 1974, in Louisville, Kentucky to parents Michael (Jolly) and Vickie Jeffries Spradlin. Gretchen grew up in Hart County.

Gretchen was a loving mother to her daughter, Camille, who was the focal point of her life. She was dedicated to taking great care of Camille and finding multiple activities for her enjoyment such as New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding of Bowling Green. Gretchen committed herself to helping others in many ways, such as being actively involved in the Hart County High School art club. As a result, one of Gretchen and Camille‘s favorite hobbies was doing various forms of art together. Gretchen, along with Camille, worked tirelessly in assisting HCHS Art Teacher Jennifer Sims to ensure that student projects were completed.

Additionally, Gretchen, a 1992 graduate of Hart County High School and an avid UK basketball fan, spent her early career years as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Hart County Personal Care home, where she displayed genuine compassion towards the residents who always looked forward to her  care and concern.

In addition, many will remember Gretchen's warm presence and welcoming smile during her time as an employee at Raiders Inn. Also, she selflessly volunteered for various teachers in the Hart County school system, including working as an assistant in the Munfordville Elementary school library with librarian and special friend Peggy Compton.

Gretchen is survived by her beloved daughter, Camille, as well as her loving parents, Michael and Vickie Spradlin. She shared a special bond with her cousin, Cindy Branstetter, and leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, as well as her cats—Max and Toby. Gretchen was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Homer and Kathleen Jeffries, and her paternal grandparents, Billy and Lillie Mae Spradlin.

Gretchen lived a quiet life, showing forth much grace, loving others by example. Her sweet spirit will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.

A ceremony to honor Gretchen's life will be held at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, KY, on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, from 3:00 — 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests expressions of sympathy be made to the HCHS Art Club, New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding of Bowling Green, or the Hospice House of Bowling Green in memory of Gretchen Spradlin.
