Howard Wesley Brown

Howard Wesley Brown, age 89 of Munfordville, Ky passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Barren County Nursing and Rehab. He was a member of Munfordville United Methodist Church and was retired from the rail road having worked for L&N and CSX Railroads. Mr. Brown was a founding member of the Hart Co. Repair Affair. 

He is the son of the late Marvin Brown and the late Bonnie Brown.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Austin Kiesler; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Brown; two sisters, Dorothy Bateman and Sue Story; and his brothers, Edsel and Wayne Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mrs. Dixie Tidwell Brown, Munfordville, KY; his three children, Wesley Brown and his wife Judi, Smithville, TN, Carolyn Coulter and her husband, Bruce, Corbin, KY, and Tresia Weber and her husband, Brian, Munfordville, KY; four grandchildren, Amanda Hardin and her husband John, Alan Coulter and his wife Amanda, Nick Weber and his wife Sarah, Jordan Brown and his wife Elysia; six great-grandchildren, John Wesley Hardin, Lucas Hardin, Addison Coulter, Kenley Coulter, Cora Stafford, and Eli Brown; one sister, Jean Stamper; one brother, Roy Brown.

The family will receive friends from 3:00- 8:00 PM CT on Sunday, April 27, 2025 and again from 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Monday, April 28, 2026 at Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY, with Pastor Anthony Marts Officiating. Burial will follow at the Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Home, either online or by sending donations to 304 Whittington PKWY Suite 102, Louisville, KY 40222. Donations may also be made to The United Methodist Children's Home, 1115 Ashgrove Rd. Nicholasville, KY 40356. As always, donations may also be left with the funeral home.
