Joan Joan "Joanie" (Shipp) Ford

Twyla Joan "Joanie" Ford, age 64, of Thompsons Station, TN, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at her residence in Thompsons Station, TN. She was in the first consolidated class of Hart County High School in 1970. She later attended O'More College of Design where she would take a job as a financial aide advisor. She enjoyed her family and not only raised her own three children but assisted raising her grandchildren. Over the years she perfected the term soccer mom.

She was the daughter of the late Lilbern Shipp and the late Hallie "Marilyn" Hodgins Shipp. She is survived by her husband, Lamarr DeWayne Ford; two daughters, Heather Vaughn Pitt and husband Jeff, Chapel Hill , TN, Ivey Ford Barna and husband George, Budapest, Hungary; one son, Cody Ford and finace Chelsea Head, Thompsons Station, TN; two brothers, Phillip Shipp, Somerset, KY, Robin Shipp, Hardyville, KY; five grandchildren, Kalee Sullivan, Lucas Sullivan, Alyssa Sullivan, Matthias Barna, Oscar Barna. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Barry and Jackie Shipp.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, May 12, 2017 and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Shelton officiating. Interment will be at Pike View Cemetery, Pike View , KY.
