Linwood Lambirth, age 79, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2006, at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. The Hart County native was born on June 13, 1926. Lambirth was employed by City of Indianapolis and was of the Baptist Faith. He was married to Ila Tubbs Lambirth who survives of Indianapolis, IN.
He was the son of the late Cleo Lambirth and the late Ethel (Sears) Lambirth.
He is also survived by three daughters: Nola Lambirth Kamran & her husband Fred of Indianapolis, IN; Carnice Gorin & her husband Michael of Muncie, IN; Rita Tubbs-Woods of Indianapolis,IN; four sons: Wallace Lambirth & his wife Carolyn; Gregory Lambirth; Eric Lambirth;Michael Lambirth & his wife Juanita all of Indianapolis, IN; four sisters: Kathryn Rice-Howard & her husband Raymond of Louisville, KY; Eva L. Smith of Cave City, KY; Ruth Stoner-Underwood & her husband Leonard of Elizabethtown, KY; Connie Franklin & her husband Haywood of Hardyville, KY; two brothers: Arlene E. Lambirth; Leon N. Lambirth & his wife Purna of Louisville, KY; 12 grandchildren & 9 great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, & special friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM CST Monday, February 27, 2006 and at Bearwallow Baptist Church from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM CST Tuesday, February 28, 2006. Funeral service will be at Bearwallow Baptist Church at 1:00 PM CST Tuesday, February 28, 2006 with Rev. Cord J. Franklin, Sr. and Rev. William Parker officiating. Interment will be at Franklin-Lambirth-Curry Cemetery in Hardyville, KY.
