Munfordville, Kentucky

Louise Childress Martin, age 84 of Munfordville passed away Monday, June 30, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of the Munfordville Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was formerly the President and CEO of Hart County Bank and Trust Co. She was a member of the Hart County Choral Society and the Glasgow Musicale.

She was the daughter of the late Reubin Childress and the late Rada Wilson Childress.

She is preceded in death by one brother, Howard “Buck” Childress.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth “Pepper” Martin; her daughter, Melissa “Missy” Carter and her husband Jerry of Danville, KY; two grandchildren, Spencer Carter and his wife Kelsey of Versailles, KY, Holly-Ann Cheek and her husband Logan of Owensboro, KY, nephew, Clint Childress and her niece, Andrea Tanero (Tony). Several nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.

The family will welcome friends from 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM CT on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CT on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Hines officiating. Burial will follow in the Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunrise Children’s Home.
