Maggie Jean Sams Hodge

Maggie Jean Sams Hodge, age 71, of Glendale, KY, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Hart County Health Care Center in Horse Cave, KY. She was a member of the Heartland Freewill Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Philpott and the late Bertha Lee Hayes She is survived by one sister: Rosie Matthews, Bonnieville, KY; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Eva Jean Sams; three sons: Edward Wayne Sams; Jerry Lee Sams; Mark Sams. one brother: William "Willy" Robert Philpott; one step son: Jimmy D. McKinney; one half brother: Carl Dewey Philpott; two half sisters: Goldie Hayes; Ethel Russell. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday, July 1, 2013 and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at Brooks Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 2, 2013, Bro. Phillip Knight officiating. Interment will be at Union Baptist Church #2 Cemetery, Fountain Run, KY.
