Marie Yvonne Fittery Lightner

Marie Yvonne Fittery Lightner, age 86, of Magnolia, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at The Medical Center of Bowling Green. She enjoyed finding natural remedies for all things, and she was an amazing cook. She liked watching television and loved to spend time with her family and her dog, Toby. She was a big instigator and would take everyone to Beddy-Bye if they acted out. 

She was the daughter of the late Russell Fittery and the late Lena Edwards Krepps.

She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Lee Lightner; her daughter, Jacklyn Lightner; and her brother, Bob Fittery.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ronald Lightner; three daughters, Kim Sweet (Tom), Betty Marie Japink, and Mary Ann Crossno (Steve); three sons, Ronald David Lightner Jr. (Alicia), Charles Robert Lightner (Richard), and Blaine Andrew Lightner (Robin); two daughters-in-law, Barb and Lisa Dawn; one half-brother, Charles Fittery; one half-sister, Eileene Cagle; 12 grandchildren, Steph Ann, Diwayne, Randall, Pokey, Emily, Mike, Justin, Leo, Ashley, Nolene, Andrew, and Kevin; 28 great-grandchildren; 11 Great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM-8:00 PM CT on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Brooks Funeral Home and again from 8:00 AM-11:00 AM CT on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CT at Brooks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Park Cemetery in Bonnieville, KY.
