Richard E. "Ricky" Waters

Richard E. “Ricky” Waters, age 69 of Horse Cave passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. He was a devoted member of Cedar Cliff Missionary Baptist Church. He was a 27 year employee of Shorty’s TV and Appliance Repair, after that he transitioned into his role as an EMT at the Hart County Ambulance Service. He was also a certified volunteer firefighter for Horse Cave.

He is the son of the late Porter Edmond Waters, Jr. and the late Juanita Garrett Waters.

He is preceded in death by his sister Vicki Nichols.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Becky Harlow Waters, Horse Cave, KY; one son, Brian Melloan and his wife Becca, Auburn, KY; one daughter, Brooke Waters; Horse Cave, KY; three grandchildren, Garrett, Hudson, and Videl; and several other children that were special to him.

The family will welcome friends from 4:00- 8:00 PM CT on Sunday, August 3, 2025 and again from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Devine officiating. Burial will follow at the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International.
