Roger Lynn Butler

Roger Lynn Butler, age 65 of Upton passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY. He was a member of Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church and a life long farmer. He was retired from Altec and loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. 

He was the son of the late Cecil Butler and the late Opal Hornback Butler.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Sandy Butler and a granddaughter, Kaya Catron.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Butler, Upton, KY; five children, David Slack (Jessica), Bonnieville, KY, Daniel Butler (Felicia), Upton, KY, Heather Catron (Chris), Hodgenville, KY, Heather Jenkins (David), Upton, KY, and Kelly Meredith (Collin), Leitchfield, KY; 12 grandchildren, Abby, Ty, Waylon, Chloe, Luke, Kayleigh, Kink, Makayla, Walter, Addie, Tucker, Kiara, and one on the way, Ella; his one sister, Jo Kittinger (Doug), Upton, KY; serveral nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.

The family will welcome friends from 2:00- 8:00 PM CT (3:00- 9:00 PM ET) on Friday, August 29, 2025 and again from 8:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT (9:00 AM- 2:00 PM ET) on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church in Upton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT (2:00 PM ET) at Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Bethel Miller and Bro. Adam Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
