Rosey Ellen (Philpott) Matthews

Rosey Ellen Matthews, age 69, of Bonnieville, KY, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. She was a homemaker and a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Louis Robert Philpott and the late Bertha Lee Hayes Philpott.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Wayne Matthews; two daughters, Sharon Kaye Robinson and husband John, Franklin, TN, Angela Rose Logsdon and husband R.T., Upton, KY; three sons, Henry Allan Matthews and wife Jane, Buffalo, KY, Danny Ray Matthews, Munfordville, KY, Allan Wayne Matthews and wife Melissa, Glasgow, KY; one step son, Billy Ray Matthews and wife Linda, Park City, KY; two step daughters, Carolyn Brooks and husband Roger, Cave City, KY, Brenda Sherman and husband Joe Scott, Horse Cave, KY; 27 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a step son, Jimmy Wayne Matthews, step daughter, Deborah Matthews, brother, Willie Philpott; Sister Maggie Jean Sams Hodge and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM CT, Wednesday, September 30, 2015 and from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM CT, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM CT, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Rocky Morrison officiating. Interment will be at Concord Cemetery, Bonnieville, KY.
