Sean Dustin Fowler's Obituary

Sean Dustin Fowler, 39, of Munfordville, Kentucky, passed away on April 3, 2026. He was born on October 27, 1986, on his mother’s birthday, in Glasgow, Kentucky, to parents Clifford and Debbie Fowler. He was a member of Munfordville Baptist Church.

Sean was a loving son to his parents, residing with them the last several months of his life. Besides being survived by his parents, Sean also is survived by two brothers: Ryan (Ryan) Fowler,Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Patrick (Chelsea) Fowler, Louisville, Kentucky. He leaves behind four precious nieces and one sweet nephew—Lila, Nora, Julia, Elliott, and Jack Fowler. He shared a very special bond with cousins Michael (Jolly), Vickie, and Camille Spradlin—his “Lego buddy.” He also shared a special bond with Barry and Jane Ann Tharp. Aunts, uncles, cousins, work colleagues, and friends also survive him. His maternal grandparents, Linard and MaeDell Branstetter of Three Springs, Kentucky; his paternal grandparents, Clifford and Betty Fowler of Parma Heights, Ohio, preceded him in death, as well as his Uncle Tommy Branstetter of Three Springs, Kentucky.

Sean had traveled and gained experience in many areas and locations throughout his short life. Sean grew up in Hart County, and he was a 2005 Hart County High School graduate earning the Commonwealth Diploma and a Kentucky Governor’s Scholar position during the summer of 2004. He was a member of The United States Air Force, earning The Air Force Achievement Medal for outstanding achievement in Bagram, Afghanistan. Airman Sean Fowler received the Honor Graduate Ribbon in basic training, San Antonio, Texas, on September 2006. The 445th Maintenance Squadron recognized Airman Fowler as a “Sharp Troop” for displaying outstanding military appearance and epitomizing the core values of The United States Air Force. In addition, he was awarded the Non Article 5 NATO Medal for service with NATO. He completed his service with The Air Force as Staff Sergeant.

He was a 2015 Minnesota State College—Southeast Technical honor graduate in violin repair. He then began to work as a Luthier for Christophe Landon Rare Violins and for Lukas Wronski Violins in New York City. He became a part owner of Brooklyn Violin Company in 2022. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition from City University New York—Brooklyn School of Music. Sean was proficient in several instruments including the piano, acoustic and electric guitars, banjo, and percussion instruments. He also enjoyed playing and singing hymns and other music with his mother.

During the last eight months, Sean has been an employee at Dart Container Corporation, Horse Cave, Kentucky. While back home, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, playing chess, and helping others as he saw needs.

A ceremony to honor Sean’s life will be held at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, KY on Wednesday, April 8, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, from 4:00—8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, April 8, from 9:00—11:00 a.m. with burial in Cosby Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gideons International or to Hart County Schools—Green River College and Career Academy. He was extremely proud that a trade school existed for our county’s students.
