Wilma Bernice "Tootie" Maxey

Wilma Bernice "Tootie" Maxey, age 69, of Horse Cave, KY, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY. She was retired from Dart Container.

She was the daughter of the late James Maxey and Hattie Rice.

She is preceded in death by her step-mother, Beulah Maxey; two brothers, Melvin Rice and Johnny Rice; one sister-in-law, Linda Rice.

She is survived by two daughters, Mickey Hatchett (Tyrone), Horse Cave, KY and Kim Kirk (Billy) of Horse Cave, KY; five grandchildren, Dee Williams (Autumn), Kiara Kirk, Russell Williams, Kiana Kirk, Tyree Franklin all of Horse Cave, KY;  ten sisters, Sue Brodie (Henry), Elizabethtown, KY, Rowena Bostick (Robert), Munfordville, KY, Janice Rice (June), Munfordville, KY, Phyllis Rice Clark, Glasgow, KY, Kathy Watts (Tony), Indianapolis, IN, Kaye Stone (Harold), Elizabethtown, KY, Deshawna Maxey, Bowling Green, KY, Mariah Maxey, Richmond, IN, Crystal Maxey, Cave City, KY, Danielle Grinter, Louisville, KY; five brothers, James Earl Rice , Munfordville, KY, Willie "Pete" Rice, Louisville, KY, Mitchell T. Rice, Munfordville, KY, Eugene Rice (Terri), Louisville, KY, Jaime Maxey (Rebecca), Bowling Green, KY, Floyd Childs, California; nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM CT on Thursday, October 6, 2022 and again from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM CT on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM CT on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Rice and Rev. K.T. Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Woodsonville Memorial Gardens.
