Jessie L. (Brewer) Barbour

Jessie Lee Barbour, age 95, of Canmer, KY, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab. She was a member of Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church where she formerly served as secretary of the Missionary Society, Sunday School teacher for young children. She also worked with the kitchen committee.

She was the daughter of the late Jesse David Brewer and the late Pearlie Ennis Brewer. She was the wife of the late Carlos Edward Barbour. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Lewis and John Barbour; her mother since the age of 3, Lucy Ann Brewer; 3 brothers, David Ray, Leonard and Willie Robert; 3 sisters, Bertha Mae, Rosie Jean, Mary Agnes.

She is survived by a son, Harry T. Barbour, Canmer, KY; three daughters, Wanda Dickerson (Rev. Robert), Louisville, KY, Judy Schooler, Louisville, KY, Shelia Barbour, Canmer, KY; daughter-in-law, Earnestine Barbour, Louisville, KY; 2 sisters, Patricia McBride, Henderson, KY, Lucille Cox, Henderson, KY; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Arvetta Barbour, Louisville, KY; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM CT, Friday, January 6, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home and 10:00 AM - 1:00PM CT Saturday at Mt. Gilboa Church. The funeral service will be 1:00 PM CT Saturday at Mt. Gilboa Church with Pastor Horace Graham and Rev. Douglas Barbour officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Gilboa Cemetery, Canmer, KY.
