Randel Ray Smith

Randel Ray Smith, age 76, of Munfordville, KY, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. Randel was saved as young man at Union Light Missionary Baptist Church. He was an amazing life teacher, a very talented musician, handmaking his own instruments, and he could do anything that you would imagine. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his entire world.

Randel was the son of the late James Elbridge Smith and the late Elaine Butler Smith.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Roy Smith and a sister, Sharon Stevenson; a brother-in-law, Bob Collins; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Poynter Self.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Smith; one daughter, Lessa Croley and her husband Brian, Munfordville, KY; two grandchildren, Reid and Lathan Croley, Munfordville, KY; three sisters, Melinda Brown (Mitchell), Cave City, KY, Wanda Collins, Munfordville, KY, Reba Crain, Cave City, KY; one brother, Danny Smith (Carolyn), Munfordville, KY; his brothers and sisters -in- law, Danny Self (Debbie), David Self,  and Debra Batliner; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM CT on Monday, January 16, 2023 and again from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM CT on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Woodie officiating. Burial will follow at Munfordville Cemetery.
